The project comprised of the up-grade and extension of an existing data centre facility for capability and redundancy. The data centre is a part of the University of Ballarat and is run by IBM as a call centre as well as providing data backup.
The existing centre required extensive capacity data storage and redundancy upgrades.
Washington Brown’s Role:
Washington Brown was commissioned by IBM to work with the project team to provide full cost planning and costs management service including budgetary estimates for the project. Washington Brown has been instrumental in the co-ordination and delivery of the trade package distributed to specialist contractors selected for the project. We further provided pretender budgets for the client and the project team.
Working in conjunction with the project managers, services consultants and engineers Washington Brown has provided guidance and reviews of all the design documentation throughout the project, highlighting co-ordination issues prior to final release of the documents.
Washington Brown commission was from pre-contract right up until completion including assessing and recommending sub-contract tenders, progress claims, variations and the like including providing full cost and financial reporting.
